But first, here’s a question for you. After your family... what are you passionate about? What makes your heart sing and makes you lose track of time? For me, it’s standing in front of my easel looking at a big blank canvas wondering if this will become something wonderful... or whether it will be another (frustrating) significant learning opportunity.

Some paintings come together and are a joy to create... and some are a struggle. I often start by asking myself what would happen if I... then follow the flow of whatever happens next. The paintings that are a struggle are the ones where I learn the most. My paintings are an outpouring of creativity and always include a little piece of my heart. At the end of each painting, I feel so grateful for an opportunity to be creative, and to hopefully make something beautiful. But truthfully, sometimes…I’m just relieved it’s done and I can move on to something new. And that’s what art truly is.. it’s taking a chance…trying something new…and risking failure.
 

Remember back when you were creative? When finger painting was fun, and your pictures were proudly displayed on the fridge? That creativity is buried deep inside us all…in one way or another...it might be art or maybe in a different form. I hope that if I accomplish nothing else in your visit to my website today, what I do will encourage you to rediscover what it means to take time for yourself to create something beautiful.
